Quelques notes sur l'installation de linux sur un PC Asus N55SL.

1 - Bios

1.1 - Accès et version bios

1.2 - Mise à jour

1.2.1 Attention

En cas d'échec, la mise à jour du firmware peut entraîner la perte définitive d'accès au PC. N'effectuer cette opération que si la version présente pose des problèmes et effectuer une sauvegarde préalablement.

1.2.2 Préparation de la clé USB

Deux méthodes d'installation sont possibles : soit depuis Windows, soit directement depuis le bios. C'est cette méthode qui est décrite ici.

Arrêt & Mises en veille

La fonction redémarrage fonctionne immédiatement :

4.3 - Hibernation

L'hibernation ne fonctionne pas correctement et bloque la machine.

L'hibernation sera opérationnelle après redémarrage du PC. Cette solution a toutefois l'inconvénient de faire apparaître un problème d'interruption du contrôleur ethernet

4.4 - Leds Arrêt /Marche et batterie

La led de gauche (ampoule) est verte lorsque le PC est allumé, clignote lorsqu'il est en veille, éteinte lorsque le PC est en hibernation ou éteint.

La led batterie est verte lorsque le PC est branché, éteinte sinon.

6 - Wifi

6.1 - Contrôleur et pilote wifi

Le contrôleur wifi est un Centrino Wireless-N 1030 et son pilote iwlwifi est disponible dans le noyau :

6.2 - Firmware

Le contrôleur nécessite un firmware propriétaire disponible dans les dépôts Debian non libre. Ajouter le dépôt non libre (nonfree) dans les sources d'apt et installer le paquet firmware-iwlwifi

6.3 - led wifi

Si la led wifi s'allume lorsque le wifi est coupé et s'allume lorsque le wifi est en marche, tester l'ajout dans la ligne de commande du noyau :

iwlwifi.bt_coex_active=N

6.4 - Bug

Si la connexion se déconnecte spontanément, tester l'ajout dans la ligne de commande du noyau :

iwlwifi.11n_disable=1


7 - Affichage

Le PC dispose de deux cartes graphique : une carte intel et une carte nvidia (système optimus). L'installation s'effectue comme indiqué dans Optimus

Le module i915 est chargé automatiquement par le noyau et gère le framebuffer du mode console.

Pour installer X window, installer xserver-xorg-video-intel

Un bug du module i915, présent à partir du noyau 4.6 génère de façon aléatoire une erreur d'affichage plus ou moins fréquence et à priori non fatale
